Remembering The Sixties

Television dominated the 60's. Here are some things that happened then: Freedom Riders - Martin Luther King, Jr.; Sabin oral polio vaccine; soap box derbies; John (Jack) and Jackie Kennedy - inauguration and assassination of our youngest president; President Lyndon Johnson signed the Medicare Bill and Fair Housing Act; Vietnam War and protest marches; first man to walk on the moon; introduction to "Radarange" (microwaves). Movies included "The Sound of Music", "West Side Story" and "Mary Poppins". Popular songs on Dick Clark's American Band Stand included "The Twist", "If I Had a Hammer", or "This Land Is Your Land". What about that Smiley face?
