Kits & Equipment

The Northwest Regional Library System provides a variety of educational kits to full members for library use. Visit the links below for additional information and to submit a request.

  • Early Literacy Kits
Each NORWELD Early Literacy Kit focuses on basic ways parents and caregivers can build early literacy skills with young children to help them get ready to read. Each kit includes books, toys, and activity ideas to encourage caregiver/child interactions that help build language and reading skills. Kits can be used for library storytimes, parent/child workshops, or as passive programming materials.
  • STEM Kits
NORWELD offers a selection of STEM kits covering concepts in the fields of science, technology, engineering, and math, which are circulated to libraries for use in children's programming or as hands-on activity centers in the children's area. Designed for children from preschool through grade 12, and in many cases appropriate for adults, there is something for everyone.
  • Storytelling Sets
The Northwest Regional Library System offers Storytelling Sets that are perfect for storytime. Each kit includes a book and cloth characters compatible with felt boards and other hook and loop-receptive surfaces.
  • Memory Kits
Memory Kits are designed to help older adults experience the joy of reminiscing about the past and sharing their experiences. Memory Kits also offer younger audiences a new perspective on history and prompt the exchange of experiences in intergenerational groups. Each kit contains high quality digital photographs, videos, photo cards, and multiple activities, and are available for use by library staff.
  • Equipment
The Northwest Regional Library System provides a variety of equipment to member libraries for staff and/or patron use on a monthly basis.
