Established in 1974, the Northwest Regional Library System (NORWELD) is one of four regional libraries in Ohio dedicated to providing educational opportunities and shared resources for local library staff and administrators throughout the geographic service area. Serving 25 counties in Northwest Ohio, NORWELD supports public, school, academic, and special libraries with professional development opportunities and special services.

The Northwest Regional Library System provides a variety of educational kits to full members for library use. Visit the links below for additional information and to submit a request.
Memory Kits are designed to help older adults experience the joy of reminiscing about the past and sharing their experiences. Memory kits also offer younger audiences a new perspective on history and prompt the exchange of experiences in intergenerational groups. Kits designed by MEternally are available for use by library staff.
The Northwest Regional Library System offers unique Early Literacy Kits that introduce early literacy skills to preschool-age children. Each kit includes books, toys, and activity ideas to encourage caregiver/child interactions that help build language and reading skills. These kits can be used for library storytimes or as passive programming materials.

The Northwest Regional Library System offers a selection of unique STEM kits covering different concepts in the fields of science, technology, engineering, and math. The STEM Kits are circulated to full member libraries for use in children's programming and in hands-on activity centers and makerspaces. Designed for children from preschool through grade 12, and in many cases appropriate for adults, there is something for everyone.
Each STEM kit includes a list of contents, games and activities, instructions for use, and programming ideas.
