A Holiday Limerick

There’s a library branch up in Wakeman,
Staff hoping to make a great break plan,
With the holidays coming,
They’d rather be sunning,
And not scheming to just get a fake tan.

Brenda would like to cocoon,
With a coffee and book afternoon,
But her spouse wants to skip,
The snow with a trip,
To Tampa or maybe Cancun.

Gayle should be spending her days,
Getting out of her gift wrapping haze,
With paper and bows,
Piling up past her nose,
Get those gifts wrapped without more delays!

Betty hopes that the holiday brings,
Time spent with her two favorite things,
A bibliophile and a foodie,
She believes it’s her duty,
To read and to eat without strings.

There’s no doubt what Cathy’s plans are,
Her family is her shining star,
Spending time with her clan,
Is her ultimate plan,
Whether they’re near or afar.

From the fair county of Huron,
We all wish much joy for you on,
Christmas and the New Year,
Kwanzaa and Hanukah-good cheer,
Good luck, let’s get ready to move on!
